As a bridal hair stylist and makeup artist, I get to work in some truly magical wedding venues, and The Mill Barns in Alveley, near Bridgnorth is one of my absolute favourites! With its stunning lakeside views, rustic charm and dreamy oak-framed barns, it’s the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding. I had the joy of glamming the beautiful bride Emily and her bridesmaids, her wedding morning was pure boho bliss!
The day started at The Laurels B&B
Since access to The Mill Barns bridal dressing room becomes available at 10:30am, we started the glam process at The Laurels B&B, a cozy and picturesque spot just down the road. Emily had a healthy bridal squad of five, so to make sure everyone was ready on time, the amazing Sophie Hailey; a super talented hairstylist from Bridgnorth, worked her magic on the bridesmaid’s hair while I focused on their makeup. The morning was filled with laughter, excited chatter, and a whole lot of boho beauty vibes as we got everyone prepped and glowing, look at them below!
Bridal dressing room magic at The Mill Barns
Once the bridal party was ready, we packed up our kits and moved over to The Mill Barns to set up in the stunning bridal dressing room.
Now, it was all about Emily! From the moment I met her, she was an absolute dream bride; so chilled, full of joy and completely in the moment. She had planned everything to perfection, which meant she could relax and soak up every second of her wedding morning. This is exactly how a bridal morning should be; stress-free, fun, and filled with love!
Boho Wedding Décor
The Mill Barns is incredibly versatile when it comes to theming, but of course Emily went with a breathtaking boho-inspired décor. The neutral tones created a soft, romantic ambiance, while rustic florals and delicate feathers added a whimsical, free-spirited touch. Pampas grass table centre piece arrangements and earthy textures filled the space to perfectly complement the barn’s natural beauty. It was the ultimate bohemian dream, effortlessly elegant yet relaxed and organic just like Emily envisioned for her special day.
The Boho bridal look
Emily’s wedding vibe was bang on trend bohemian and I was obsessed with her whole look!
Her hair I styled into soft, flowing, tasselled waves with a soft braid which was perfectly paired with a delicate flower crown that added the ultimate free-spirited touch. The incredibly talented Francesca Morgan worked her makeup magic, creating a dreamy mauve smoky eye that beautifully complemented the floral details in Emily’s dress and hairpiece. Emily’s dress was a floral fitted masterpiece, enhancing her beautiful figure yet still floaty to give that effortless boho feel. The overall result? A whimsical, romantic, and totally boho-chic bridal look that suited her perfectly!
